Experience shows that major investments are almost exclusively made when existing equipment has reached the end of its service life and repair costs approach those of replacement – or when new systems offer such a significant technical advantage that the investment pays off quickly. When buying a new plant does not generate clear economic benefits, sustainability alone rarely becomes a selling point. That is why we believe the greater impact lies in improving existing systems.
