Adsorber VG-D
The GIEBEL adsorbers of the VG-D series are oil mist separators and are used for the adsorption of oil mist. The combination of spill protection, oil demister and a high quantity of activated carbon cleans the air flowing out of hydraulic tanks, gears and drums and protects the environment from contamination with oil.
It is used, for example, on turbo gears, test benches and oil circulation lubrication systems. The effective design of the Adsorber VG-D quickly becomes apparent here. The special design prevents the escape of larger and smaller oil aerosols.
These adsorbers are disposable versions and are completely replaced after complete saturation (discoloration of the white layer). This means that maintenance is carried out within a very short time. The selection is based on the size of the plant and the amount of pollutants escaping to ensure high efficiency and a long service life.

METHOD OF OPERATION
Technical Data
Due to overpressure in the system, the air is first pressed through the GIEBEL-specific two-stage spill protection. Here the large oil particles are blocked and drop back into the plant. The directly following demister is used for the condensation of larger oil particles which stick to it, condense and drop back.
The finer particles are separated at the 3 µm glass fibre filter and returned to the tank. Only the finest oil aerosols end up in the high bulk of activated carbon. The 4 mm cylinder pellets adsorb all remaining particles and protect the environment from contamination by these pollutants. At the end of the adsorber life cycle, the lower white layer changes to a brownish oil-like colour and thus indicates the end of the application interval.
Due to its valveless design and multi-stage separation, this adsorber has a high efficiency for separating particles from the system into the environment and a low differential pressure.
These adsorbers are made of polycarbonate, polyamide, activated carbon, FKM and can be used to deaerate all common hydraulic and gear oils and lubricants, fuels, isocyanates. The GIEBEL team is at your disposal for the clarification of resistances.
