Adsorber ME-RV
The excellent adsorber ME-RV is made entirely of A4 stainless steel. With a separate valve section, the maintenance interval is considerably extended. With up to 5.2 kg desiccant, even large hydraulic tanks in offshore applications, as well as gear boxes in the chemical industry and storage tanks can be efficiently ventilated.
The use according to ATEX product directive 2014/34/EU in zone II 2 G / D IIC T4 is possible as well as according to the corrosiveness category C5-M. On gearboxes or hydraulic tanks on ship decks, the valves protect the desiccant and, in the event of swell, the oils and lubricants from contamination and damage by water.
Due to the optimized design, these adsorbers can be maintained very quickly and cost-effectively. The wear parts or the pure desiccant are quickly inserted and the protection of the system to be ventilated is restored.

METHOD OF OPERATION
Technical Data
The sucked in air opens the valves in the lower part of the adsorber already at approx. 5 mbar. After flowing into the adsorber, the air is distributed evenly over the cross-section. The pre-filter disc removes coarse dirt particles from the air already at this point.
When the desiccant silica gel flows through, the water molecules are reliably removed from the air. The gap volume of the granulate is optimally selected with 2 to 5mm grains. This guarantees a minimum pressure build-up and at the same time very good drying efficiency. Thus, at the beginning of the drying process, a residual air humidity of max. 2 % rH and a dew point of -40 °C is achieved. Due to the water absorption, the silica gel in the standard version turns from orange to green, indicating the end of the product life cycle. At the end a 3 µm filter ensures that all dirt particles are separated from the ambient air and the silica gel and that the connected system is not contaminated.
With the outflowing air the GIEBEL specific two-stage spill protection prevents larger oil droplets from penetrating into the desiccant. This is supplemented by the activated carbon, which adsorbs the finest oil particles and thus enables the adsorber to regenerate itself.
These adsorbers are made of A4 stainless steel, Silicagel Orange, FKM or EPDM and can be used for the aeration of all common hydraulic and gear oils and lubricants, fuels, isocyanates. In addition, this series can be used to ventilate e.g. SKYDROL, brake fluids and solvents. The GIEBEL team is gladly at your disposal for clarification of resistances.
