Adsorber MA-RV
The adsorber of the MA-RV series consists of an aluminium housing with a valve part and is used for aeration of aggressive substances or for use in harsh environments. The very robust housing withstands the most adverse conditions and optimally protects the system to be aerated from water ingress. They are used on hydraulic systems, gearboxes and storage tanks worldwide.
These adsorbers are filled with up to approx. 10 kg desiccant and can also be used with FKM or EPDM seals for the aeration of SKYDROL, brake fluids DOT4 and other hydraulic fluids. In addition to effective air drying, particle separation down to 3µm is achieved.
The adsorbers MA-RV series can be used in zone II 2 G / D IIC T4 according to ATEX product directive 2014/34/EU. In the viewing window the saturation of the desiccant is checked to detect the status of the adsorber. Maintenance of the wear components can be carried out quickly and cost-effectively.

METHOD OF OPERATION
Technical Data
The sucked in air opens the valves in the lower part of the adsorber already at approx. 5 mbar. After flowing into the adsorber, the air is distributed evenly over the cross-section. The pre-filter disc removes coarse dirt particles from the air already at this point.
When the desiccant silica gel flows through, the water molecules are reliably removed from the air. The gap volume of the granulate is optimally selected with 2 to 5mm grains. This guarantees a minimum pressure build-up and at the same time very good drying efficiency. Thus, at the beginning of the drying process, a residual air humidity of max. 2 % rH and a dew point of -40 °C is achieved. Due to the water absorption, the silica gel in the standard version turns from orange to green, indicating the end of the product life cycle. At the end a 3 µm filter ensures that all dirt particles are separated from the ambient air and the silica gel and that the connected system is not contaminated.
With the outflowing air the GIEBEL specific two-stage spill protection prevents larger oil droplets from penetrating into the desiccant. This is supplemented by the activated carbon, which adsorbs the finest oil particles and thus enables the adsorber to regenerate itself.
These adsorbers are made of aluminium, Silicagel Orange, FKM or EPDM and can be used for the aeration of all common hydraulic and gear oils and lubricants, fuels, isocyanates. In addition, this series can be used to ventilate e.g. SKYDROL, brake fluids and solvents. The GIEBEL team is gladly at your disposal for clarification of resistances.
