Hydraulic Power Packs

When using hydraulic power packs, humid air is sucked in by pressure compensation with the environment, which condenses when the temperature falls below the dew point. The use in high humidity and temperature fluctuations promotes condensation damage. Rapid aging of the hydraulic oil, degradation of additives and promotion of corrosion are only some of the possible damages.

To prevent the formation of foam caused by condensation, the use of an aeration dryer is an effective measure. This dries the incoming air and thus achieves a strong reduction of the water content and the dew point. While a well designed ventilation dryer protects the hydraulic unit very efficiently, the handling is simple. The colour change of the silica gel from orange to green indicates the condition of the adsorber. GIEBEL FilTec has developed different series for the protection on hydraulic power packs.
